How do I restore a MySQL database in cPanel using JetBackup 5?

Restoring a MySQL database with JetBackup 5 is simple, especially when you’ve lost data or need to roll back recent changes.

  1. Open your browser and go to:
    https://yourdomain.com:2083
  2. Enter your cPanel username and password to access your hosting dashboard.

Step 2: Access JetBackup 5 from Files Section

  1. In your cPanel dashboard, scroll down to the Files section.
  2. Click on JetBackup 5.
  1. Inside JetBackup 5, look for the Databases or Database Backups option.
  2. Click it to view available database restore points.
  1. You’ll see a list of database backups along with their names and backup dates.
  2. Identify the database you want to restore.
  3. Click the Restore button next to the appropriate backup.
  1. A warning will pop up saying the action will overwrite the existing database.
  2. Confirm by clicking Restore again.
  3. The request will now be added to the Queue.
  1. Click on the Queue tab within JetBackup 5.
  2. Wait until the status of the job changes to Completed.
  • Visit your website or application to check if everything is working as expected.
  • You can also go to phpMyAdmin from cPanel to inspect the database structure and data.
  • Take a manual backup before restoring, just in case.
  • Ensure you’re selecting the correct database, especially if your account has multiple.
  • Consider restoring to a staging environment first if you’re unsure about the impact.
