How to Upload Folders and Files Using the File Manager in cPanel

Uploading folders and files using the File Manager in cPanel is a straightforward process. This guide walks you through each step to upload your data quickly and efficiently.

  • Open your web browser and go to your cPanel login page.
  • Enter your username and password to log in.
  • In the cPanel dashboard, locate the Files section.
  • Click on the File Manager icon to open it.

  • Use the left-hand directory tree or folder view to go to the folder where you want to upload files.
  • For example, click on public_html if you want to upload website files.

  5. Wait for the green progress bar to confirm completion.

  • After uploading, you may need to adjust file or folder permissions.
  • Right-click the file/folder, choose Change Permissions, and set appropriate values.
  • For large files (e.g., over 100MB), using FTP is recommended for better reliability and speed.
  • Ensure your hosting plan has enough available storage to accommodate the files you’re uploading.
