Domain Transfers to Cloudexter

Transferring a domain to Cloudexter is simple and straightforward. Our support team is always available to assist you if you have any questions or encounter issues at any stage of the transfer. Keep in mind that the transfer process may vary slightly depending on the domain extension (such as .com, .net), as each is managed by different registry organizations.

No matter your domain extension, the first step is to initiate your domain transfer by placing an order through our order form.

Transferring GTLDs (.com, .net, .org, and Other Domains)

Most domains, including .com, .net, and .org, are Global Top-Level Domains (GTLDs). These domains are not tied to any specific country. For GTLD transfers, an authorization code (or EPP key) is needed, and you’ll pay the equivalent of a one-year renewal. During the transfer process, an extra year will be added to your domain’s expiration date.

Steps to Transfer a GTLD Domain:

1. Unlock Your Domain:

Log in to your current provider’s account and unlock your domain (often called “Registrar Lock”).

2. Obtain the EPP Key:

Request the EPP key (also known as an authorization code) from your current provider. You’ll need this code to transfer your domain.

3. Place the Transfer Order with Cloudexter:

Go to My Services > Domain Names > Add New to place the order.

4. Approve the Transfer via Email:

After your payment is processed, an email will be sent to the admin contact of the domain. This email will include a link where you must approve the transfer to Cloudexter.

5. Wait for the Transfer to Complete:

Once approved, the transfer process may take several days to finalize, depending on the originating registry. Cloudexter will notify you via email once the transfer is complete.

Country-Specific Domains

If your domain has a country-specific extension (such as .in or .ca), contact us for details on how you can transfer it to Cloudexter. We’re here to guide you through any additional requirements.

Once these steps are complete, your domain will be fully transferred to Cloudexter, allowing you to manage and renew it easily through our platform.

Note for .uk Domains:

At Cloudexter, we currently do not offer registration or transfer services for .uk domain extensions (e.g., .co.uk, .me.uk, .org.uk, .uk). If you are looking to transfer a .uk domain, you may need to consider other providers that support these extensions. Please feel free to contact us for more information or alternative domain options.
